Keys out of order on page error
After running DBCC CHECKDB the following error were displayed on
multiple pages.
Server: Msg 2511, Level 16, State 1, Line 1
Table error: Object ID 1285579618, Index ID 3. Keys out of order on page
(1:384662), slots 75 and 76.
I read a post that suggested running DBCC CHECKDB with the repair_build
option.
Since we are a 24/7 shop I cannot restore from tape, because it would
take several hours.
What are the risks of running DBCC CHECKDB with the repair_build option,
and will this fix the problem properly?
We are still unsure what has caused this corruption, any body else have
this problem?
TIA,
-BenThere are a couple of things.
Firstly it is very intensive so turn off as many services
you can get away with, i.e SQL Agent
Secondly depending upon the severity of the error it may
result in data loss. Personally I would try firstly with
REPAIR_FAST, then REPAIR_REBUILD and if all else fails
REPAIR_ALLOW_DATA_LOSS, its that option where you may lose
data.
If the REPAIR_ALLOW_DATA_LOSS doesn't work then you will
have to restore from backup.
As for the reason why to difficult to say.
Good luck

As the error is in a non-clustered index, you can just rebuild the index
with DBCC DBREINDEX (<table_name>, <index_name>). Or if you want to be on
the safe side, just drop and recreate the index.
After that, investigate why the corruption occurred in the first place. You
might have hardware problems.

Keeping a group together over page break
I want to keep a group togheter. The report shows clients and projects, and
I don't want to have any "hanging" projects starting on a new page.
Is it possible to have the report do page break if it calculates that the
grouping is too big for the remaining page?
Kaisa M. LindahlThere is a group property called Keeptogether ( I think thats the name) ...
Set its value to 1 ( or true) and if the entire group can not fit in the
remaining space on the space, it will auto page break ...

The KeepTogheter property works on a table level. I couldn't find it for a
group level. And according to this page
http://msdn.microsoft.com/library/default.asp?url=/library/en-us/rscreate/htm/rcr_creating_dc_v1_2bvp.asp
- it says when adding KeepTogether to a table, " A table group is not kept
together. "
I've tried it out, and it seems to be true, even with KeepTogether set to
true, groups will not break to be on one page.
However, I did some testing on the Edit Group bit, and turned on "Repeat
Group Header". So now it will display the group header on the new page.
Is there a way to check if a group has been split like this? Because if
there was, I'd like to do this check, and add ".. continued" on the next
page.

Keep Together Table Rows
three table rows. When the report pages it sometimes breaks after the first
or second row of the three. I would like to have the three rows always on
the same page. I can not find a keep together property where I can bind the
three rows together and have them display as a unit.
Does anyone have any thoughts on the best approach to do this within the
table structure?
Thanks,
GeorgeSorry, the current version is not so good for controlling page breaks. You
can do some stuff using rectangles, but within tables, you don't have much
control. You can do a page break at the start or end of groups, but keep
together is a problem.

keep together table groups
I have a table containing two groups and a detail area.In the preview tab ,on some pages the second group and the detail area splits to different pages.I want them to be always on the same page. How can I do that?I don't know of an explicit way of keeping them together. However bear in mind that paging in the preview tab and the web will probably be different to exported or printed reports. You can try to control the paging by forcing a page break in the group properties tab.|||
Hi,
Did you have any luck with this. I have many reports that I need to keep the groupings together, but have yet to find the solution. Thanks.
|||Thanks Adam. But if I use a page break in the group properties, there will be one group per page. And this is not a thing I want.|||
This is amazing to me also.
I've used Crystal Reports and Visual FoxPro's report writer, and both have simple checkboxes to "Keep Together" that you can set for any group.
I haven't tried it yet, but what I'm wondering is if there's a way to use a subreport (or a table inside a table row?) because you can apparently set a table to keep together...
Somebody please post if you've found a way...
Thanks.

Keep Together Function Not Working
a group of text boxes or in a table and they are ending up on two pages of
the report, when they should only be on one.
Has anyone found a solution?

THE TRICK IS TO CREATE NESTED GROUPING TABLES.
For example,
I have a query output with Agent name , client name and client details.
In order to keep them grouped, I create a table with one group, the Agent
(header, no details).
In that group, I create a table with one group, the Client (same as above).
And in that I group I create another table with the Client Details.
I only use details at the lower lever (the client details).
That works.
I don't like it because it makes the report complicated but it works.

KB934164 Report Services under VISTA -- RsAccess Denied Issue.
I am trying to test some reports and a report model built under VS-2005 under the Report Server and am NOT getting the content or property pages under folder.aspx, i.e., what typically shows when you run http://localhost\Reports.
Currently, http://localhost\Reports prompts me for my Windows login and password.
Was able to go in under SQL Server Management Studio connect to Report Services and add my local user account by granting it permissions. This enabled the "Site Settings" link at the upper right hand corner. So I am able to edit "Site Settings -- but not look at content.
Under http://localhost/ReportServer I get the infamous message: the permissions granted to user 'myMachine\mySelf' are insufficient for performing this operation (rsAccessDenied).
I am using Vista Ultimate, with IIS 7 / VS-2005 / SP1, SQL-Server 2005/SP2 on a home machine (not a corporate network).
Here are the steps for dealing with rsAccessDenied problem...
Follow the steps under KB934164.
Run SQL-Server 2005 Management Studio as as "Administrator" -- Connect to the Report Services Engine.
Step 1:
Right Click "localHost", go the Permissions page and grant your Service account permission. Also add your username for your Administrators.
Step 2:
Go down one level to "HOME". right click on Permission page and add you users or groups.
After doing this, I was able to see the Content page.
I received an access denied message when running a report against the Adventure Works database. Error messages such as "could not load file or asembly or dependencies.
Follow the "Hot To: Create a Service Account for an ASP.NET 2.0 Application. (Aspnet_regiis - ga ... ). This is under the patterns and practices under msdn2. ms998297.
This with applying settings under the Report Services Configuration utility seemed to address the problem.
